REQUEST AN EVENT OR A STATION TOUR
A minimum two-week advance notice is required to schedule fire station tours, classroom visits and other community affairs events. The firefighter crews are in-service during scheduled events and without notice may not be available due to the need to respond to an emergency. Likewise there is the chance that the crew will have to abruptly leave the event to respond to an emergency. Please keep this in mind when scheduling an event. If the need to cancel a tour or presentation arises, attempts to reschedule will be made.
We will do our best to accommodate a tour on the day and time that you request; however station schedules also have to accommodate station duties, fire inspections, training, equipment maintenance, and emergency response. We ask that you keep this in mind when scheduling tours and have other dates in mind in case your date of choice is not available.
Fire Station Tours
Fire station tours are available to residents living within our service area. Tours are geared for school-aged children through adults in groups of 6 to 20 people. A sufficient number of adult group leaders to supervise children are required. Fire station tours last approximately 30-45 minutes. These tours give participants the opportunity to see a fire station, meet the crews and learn about the fire apparatus and equipment.
Classroom Visits
A fire crew or staff from fire prevention may be available to provide a fire safety education presentation in the classroom for schools located within our service area. Fire safety presentations last approximately 45-60 minutes and can cover a variety of fire and life safety topics.
Community Affairs Events
Based upon availability, fire crews can be scheduled to stop by community events such as HOA picnics, community parades, school carnivals and block parties to meet with neighbors and citizens within our service area. Due to the crews being in-service, they cannot be scheduled for the entire duration of most of these events and can only drop by for a window of time during the event.
Birthday Parties
While birthday groups are welcome to schedule a tour of a fire station on that special day, fire stations are not equipped to handle birthday parties. Please do not bring gifts, food or drinks into the fire station during your scheduled tour. At this time we are unable to send crews to private birthday parties.
